If you, like me, are presently studying for the surgical primary exam, you’ll know that it feels a lot like crunch time now. I have this terrible habit of counting down the days. And there are too few left. It’s that time when it’s really enticing to learn about the ancient history of Babylon, or the patterns of giant ant migration, but really what is required is a good understanding of all of Last’s Anatomy. So take a break for now and then get back to those books.
Interesting articles this week:
- Why do we wear make up and how much is enough? Apparently what we think is enough is actually too much (coming from an eyeshadow aficionado).
- Could this drug be an answer to improving cardiac outcomes?
- The things we’re doing wrong when it comes to road safety.
- A rapper trying to make a positive difference in the world. When music and mental health awareness collide.
TED talk of the week:

Book to read:
The Laws of Medicine: Field notes from an uncertain science. This one will (thankfully) take only an hour or two to burn through. A lovely short Sunday read.
